Zero Kilometre Flavours (Sapori a Chilometri Zero)

Zero Kilometre Flavours is designed to promote environmentally-sustainable economics by shortening the supply chains between producers and consumers. Inefficient supply chains lengthen the time taken for food to reach customers and generate more climate changing gases. By delivering fresher ingredients to customers, Zero Kilometre Flavours strengthens the market for quality local produce. This strengthens the local economy as local sustainable agriculture grows to meet demand, as well as encouraging responsible tourism into the area.
The pilot project takes place in Buggerru, a small self-contained town which lends itself perfectly to this experiment. The project falls under the Coastal Area Management Programme and is organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Buggerru and the local restaurants.
